The DGT SMART electronic chess set combines a SMART Board, electronic chess pieces and a connecting cable set in a system designed to make electronic chess more affordable while still supporting live broadcasting, game recording and digital analysis.
The set includes an electronic DGT SMART BOARD with notation, plastic electronic DGT chess pieces, a cabling set for individual use and Fritz 14.
SMART technology was developed to make this type of setup more affordable than DGT’s wooden electronic boards, helping live chess broadcasts reach a wider audience.
The board is made from high-quality plastic and is designed to offer the same functionality and user experience as the wooden electronic boards. It can be used at home, in a club or at a tournament.
Play, record and analyse
Use the SMART Board as an input device for online play, for example on Playchess.com. When it is connected to a DGT3000 chess clock, your opponent’s moves — whether human or engine — are shown on the clock display.
The board also lets you record games for later download and analysis. It works with chess software on desktop computers and laptops, making it suitable for training, analysis and study.
If you want to turn the board into a stronger sparring partner, you can add the DGT PI chess computer. For tournament use, the SMART Board is fully compatible with DGT wooden boards in a tournament setup. LiveChess software, with its free cloud service, also supports live transmission of games and events through your website.
To use the SMART Board in a tournament system, you need the cable set for the first board and the correct number of cables for the next boards in the system. The Connection cable set for the first electronic board in the tournament system (USB C) is available separately.
