ALEXANDER EBONY 4" chess pieces

Alexander ebony chess pieces, 4 inches are a complete set of chess pieces in a classic tournament style, finished with a more decorative knight that gives the set a distinctive look on the board. Made from boxwood and ebony, they are designed for standard play on a larger chessboard.

Classic form with a sculptural knight

The contrast between natural boxwood and dark ebony makes the pieces easy to read during play and gives the set a strong visual presence. The king stands 105 mm high, while the pawn measures 47 mm, giving the pieces a balanced profile for regular games.

The knight is the most expressive piece in the set: instead of a simplified shape, it has a more sculptural, horse-like design. That detail gives the Alexander set its own character without moving away from a classic chess-piece format.

Practical for everyday play

The set includes two extra queens, one for each colour, so a promoted pawn can be replaced immediately. For the best proportions, it is recommended for squares measuring around 58–64 mm.
