This No. 4+ chessboard with notation, ebonised marquetry is a wooden chessboard for regular play, with algebraic notation along the edges and a dark finish that gives it a distinctive, ebony-like look. It is designed for recreational and club use, as well as for studying and recording games.
The board combines light maple squares with dark ebonised maple squares, and its marquetry construction gives it a classic tournament-style appearance. The 440 × 440 mm format and 45 mm squares make it suitable for Staunton No. 4 and No. 5 pieces.
Construction and piece match
This board is made from maple, birch wood and mahogany. The underside has felt pads to help keep the board steady and to protect the surface underneath when it is moved.
