This Executive is a classic Staunton-style set of wooden chess pieces with a carved knight and an ebony-like dark finish, made for regular play on a larger chessboard.
The pieces are made from boxwood, with the dark side ebonised to give it a deep colour close to ebony. The set keeps the clean Staunton proportions that make the position easy to read during play, and the knight stands out with its hand-carved profile. It is also known as the Laughing Knight.
A practical set for everyday play
