This exclusive No. 5 chessboard with coordinates combines walnut and maple inlay with a black frame, giving you a 48 × 48 cm wooden board designed for tournament play and for pairing with the right pieces.

Made for No. 5 and No. 6 pieces

The board has 50 × 50 mm squares and alphanumeric coordinates, so it works well with our No. 5 and No. 6 Staunton pieces as well as imported chess pieces with a smaller base diameter, typically in the 3.5–3.75 inch range. In tournament use, chessboards commonly have square sizes from 50 to 58 mm. A matching option is the German (Timeless) set in 3.5 inches, which creates a combination close in size to the electronic boards seen at major chess events.

Finish and construction

The playing area is separated from the outer edge by a black border, and the board is double lacquered for a clean, finished look. Four felt pads on the underside help keep it steady on a table, desk or any other hard, level surface.
