Staunton No. 6 carved wooden chess pieces come as a complete set with a mahogany-coloured wooden case, making them a practical choice for home games, club play and gifting. Their larger size gives them a clear presence on the board and makes them comfortable to handle during play.

The pieces are carved from hornbeam wood. The king stands 98 mm high, so this set is best matched with a chessboard with 55–58 mm squares. That combination gives the pieces enough space to sit neatly on the board and keeps the layout easy to read.

Each piece is metal-weighted and has a felt-padded underside, which helps it sit steadily on the board and move smoothly across the surface. The set is supplied in a wooden case with two separate compartments, so light and dark pieces can be stored apart after the game.
