STAUNTON Std No 6 (in wooden box, light)

Staunton No. 6 chess pieces in a wooden box are a classic set for players who want a separate piece set for their own chessboard. The king stands 95–98 mm high, and the pieces come stored in a wooden box measuring 210 × 145 × 75 mm, with two compartments to keep the white and black pieces organised between games.

This No. 6 set is especially well suited to larger boards, including chessboards No. 5+ and No. 6. It is a practical choice for regular home play, and the light natural-wood box makes it easy to keep the full set together and ready to use.

Construction and playing feel

The pieces are made from hornbeam wood and finished with a stain that gives them a slightly rustic look. They are weighted and felt-backed, which helps them sit comfortably in the hand and move smoothly across the board. The classic Staunton proportions make the pieces easy to recognise during play.

The wooden box is more than just storage. It keeps the pieces protected and close at hand, and it also makes the set suitable for gifting. Engraving and gift wrapping are available.
