Zagreb chess pieces in Indian acacia and boxwood bring the classic Zagreb style to the board, with hand-carved details, balanced proportions and a look that works well for both everyday play and collecting.

The Zagreb pattern is inspired by sets used in major international events in the mid-twentieth century. In this version, the knight follows the Russian style, with a closed mouth, a slim neck and a carefully carved head, while the king, queen and bishop keep the clean proportions that define the design.

Natural wood and a practical playing size

The dark pieces are made from Indian acacia and the light pieces from boxwood. The natural contrast makes the set easy to read on the board. The king stands 103 mm tall and the pawn 51 mm, so this set works best with a chessboard square size of 55–58 mm. The base diameters are also well matched to the format: king 45 mm, queen 43 mm, bishop 37 mm, knight 36 mm, rook 39 mm and pawn 33 mm.
